HUBOIS is a high end luxury brand specialising in premium leather goods; from belts to handbags. As the logo would feature prominently on a wide range of goods, it needed to be simple, remain clear at small sizes and work well when embossed or engraved. In my opinion – ALL logos should meet these criteria! However special care was taken to create something which would perform well in these specific situations.
We went about creating a H symbol to compliment elegant, widely spaced logotype – with the concept of wings emanating from the H proving popular. You can see part of the range of concepts I created as digital sketches below…
Finally it was decided to create both a primary and secondary version of the logo (as is popular with fashion brands) to provide a degree of variation while ensuring brand recognition is not lost. This was achieved by using certain design elements and features consistently; such as the spacing between logo elements, the H, the logotype, the alignment between wingtips and logotype, etc.
